This fully pegged pond (21 pegs) is reached by travelling out of Ponteland in a northerly direction on the A696 and turning left onto the road signposted for Dissington and Dalton. Some 500 yards along this road you will reach a row of Quarry Cottages. The turning for the pond is directly opposite the cottages. The car park to the left is entered via a gate which has a combination lock – the combination is provided in your current membership book. The combination is changed at the end of each January. Only use the car park provided, do not park off site. The water holds roach, rudd, bream, tench, crucian carp and some F1’s, in recent years there was a healthy population of sizeable ide (upwards of 3-4 lbs) but latterly they seem to have dwindled. Dissington is, from time to time, used for BWAC matches, but these are well advertised and notices will indicate when the water is closed to members not fishing the match. Being a former gravel pit certain areas of the water are very deep and so care must be taken. There is no close season on this water. Use the following 3 words to navigate to car park.
